2019 Tor Petite Sirah Palisades Vineyard Old Vine

There are 100 cases of the impressively endowed 2019 Petite Sirah Palisades Vineyard Old Vine. It's a famous spot up in Calistoga—some readers may remember the excellent examples that used to emerge from here under the Carver-Sutro label. As winemaker Jeff Ames told me, "I don't want a pretty Petite Sirah, I want a Petite Sirah that kind of hits you." Big black cherries, blueberries and licorice notes make a powerful statement, as does the full-bodied palate. Richly concentrated, dense and tannic, with a long finish, this should easily age for a couple of decades.
