Tasting notes
Blueberries, violets, cassis, blackberry jam and scorched earth-like minerality all emerge from the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard, and it's undeniably sexy and voluptuous on the palate. Possessing a huge core of sweet fruit, fine, polished tannin, remarkable detail and precision, and a big finish, it's going to be one of the more approachable wines in the lineup. An estate I wasn’t familiar with, I was blown away by the wines of Macauley Vineyard. After doing some research, I found out that the wines are made by Kirk Venge, so mystery solved. These are awesome wines, and savvy readers need to leap on this bandwagon.

A barrel sample, the deep garnet-purple 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach has a nose of baked berries and dried mulberries with spices, earth and dried herbs suggestions. Full-bodied with flavors of preserved black fruits, earth and Indian spices, the mouth is a little chewy and rustic in terms of texture, finishing long and savory.
