Tasting notes
Limpid yellow. A highly complex bouquet evokes fresh citrus and orchard fruits, iodine and white flowers, and a hint of sweet butter emerges as the wine opens up. Juicy, incisive and pure, offering vibrant Meyer lemon, pear nectar and brioche flavors that pick up a strong mineral accent on the back half. Concentrated yet nervy in style, finishing very long, with impressive energy and lingering citrus fruit and mineral notes.

The 2013 Chardonnay Sigrid stayed on its lees for 18 months (12 months in oak and six months stainless steel) and goes through full malolactic. It has a gentle bouquet with white flowers infusing the citrus fruit, quite "airy" in nature, though nicely defined. The palate is crisp on the entry with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and tensile, the 20% new oak neatly integrated. It is not a deep Chardonnay per se, but I appreciate the freshness here, a Chardonnay that will drink well for several years.
Fresh, lifting, energetic aromatics. Well-integrated oak and fruit. Palate with a sense of richness and spice alongside toasted lemon with makrut-lime accents. Nicely made with rich mid palate. A little light through the finish. Mouth-watering length. (ECB)
