Score 92/100 · Drink 2018-2022, Josh Raynolds, Aug 2016

Light yellow-gold. Candied orange, pear nectar, tarragon and iodine on the nose, joined by a deeper suggestion of honey. Shows very good energy and depth to the juicy citrus and orchard fruit and toasted nut flavors, which are underscored by a vein of smoky minerality. This reminds me a lot of an old-school Meursault. Finishes with repeating smokiness, a hint of bitter pear skin and impressive, mineral-driven tenacity. This is a far more mainstream wine than most examples from this producer.
