Medium red. Slightly liqueur-like ripeness to the musky redcurrant aroma. Supple and fairly broad on the palate, but ultimately a wine of good rather than outstanding stuffing and depth. Brooding spice and earth flavors carry though on the finish, which features dusty tannins.

Translucent mid crimson. Pretty reticent on the nose. Very smooth even though there's a good tannin framework and there's a slight chew on the finish. Dry, even a little flat on the palate at the moment. (JH)
