Rather muddy, indistinct nose at this point. A little on the skinny side. Not much substance on the mid palate. A bit tart and stringy on the end. Tannins more evident than fruit. (JR)

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur, matured in 50% new oak, has a lively and elegant bouquet with bright dark cherry and blackberry fruit, matched with impressive mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. It feels compact at the moment, yet the tannins are crisp and tensile, and there is plenty of red cherry and strawberry on the tart finish. This is very fine.
