A blend of 65% Chardonnay and 35% Roussanne, the 2017 The Secret opens with preserved lemon and tangy yogurt aromas with notes of flint, charcuterie, dried mushroom and baked apples. In the mouth, it's medium-bodied, rounded and silky with expansive, mineral-laced flavors and pleasantly tangy acid, and it finishes very long. 140 cases were made.

A unique blend of Chardonnay and Roussanne from the Watch Hill and Bien Nacido vineyards, the 2017 The Secret has classy notes of honeyed nectarine, toasted almonds, brioche, and exotic flowers. This rich, medium to full-bodied beauty has a wonderful texture, building richness, a beautiful sense of freshness, and a great finish.
The 2017 The Secret (Chardonnay, Roussanne), is positively stellar. All of the richness that is typical of these wines come through, but The Secret also has terrific verve and a good deal of freshness to balance things out. Orange peel, lemon oil and buttery notes all meld together effortlessly in a stunning, unctuous white that hits all the right notes. The 2017 is simply compelling. Here, too, the interplay of richness and vibrancy is so alluring.
