An impressive effort from a newcomer to these pages, the dark ruby/purple-colored 2001 Zinfandel Monte Rosso (175 cases) initially reveals some spicy oak, but it is quickly integrated into the sweet strawberry and black cherry fruit, earth, tar, and spice box characteristics.
