Tasting notes
A dark, explosive wine, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon races across the palate with sumptuous dark red and black fruit, new leather, cedar, licorice and tobacco. The 2012 stands out for its density, volume and texture. It can be enjoyed now, but also has enough density to drink well for another decade-plus. This is an unusually rich Cabernet from Stagecoach, but it works.

Their 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, which comes primarily from the Stagecoach Vineyard as well as another source in Coombsville, is fresh, tight, and although somewhat monolithic, loaded with extract. This is a relatively big-structured wine with a muscular personality, pink/ruby/purple color and, somewhat atypically for a 2012, in need of several years of bottle age. It looks to be outstanding, but give it 2-4 years of bottle age and drink it over the following 12-15 years.
