Score 90/100 · Drink 2001-2017, Robert Parker, Dec 1997

Also impressive, the 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals sweeter tannin than the 1994 (an anomaly in comparing these two vintages), rich, ripe, full-bodied fruit, admirable density and extract, fine overall equilibrium, and a long, heady, concentrated finish. Whether it develops as much intensity as the 1994 remains to be seen, but these wines have lived up to, and even surpassed my earlier reviews. As a side note, well-known Heidi Barrett is the consulting oenologist for this estate. Production is about 1,000 cases per vintage. This 8-acre estate owned by Charles Bell is superbly located on the hills above the Oakville Crossroad, not far from the exceptional Harlan Estate. Tel. (707) 945-0445; Fax (707) 944-9603

Good red-ruby color. Higher-toned aromas of redcurrant, loam and tobacco. Lush and silky on the middle palate; like the above, this already offers a lot of personality. But seems less delineated than the '96, and finishes with a bit less grip. The tannins are slightly dry.
