Tasting notes
Deep medium ruby. Superripe aromas of black raspberry, beefsteak tomato and mocha; slightly liqueur-like. Ripe, dense and sexy but quite dry despite an almost candied suggestion to its fruit flavors. Round, seamless and broad wine, finishing with substantial lush tannins and lingering perfume. Very sexy wine.

Herbal blackberries and cassis are intermingled with black cherry syrup in the aromatic profile of the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Seven Hills Vineyard. A medium-bodied wine of outstanding purity, lushness, and breadth, it sports a terrific mouthfeel as well as a black cherry-dominated core of sweet fruit. Sage-laced cassis and blackberries come to the fore in its lengthy, edgeless finish. Drink it over the next dozen years. Tel. (425) 481-5502; www.januikwinery.com
