Score 91/100 · Drink 2017-2022, David Schildknecht, Vinous, Aug 2017
This comes from primarily loess soils less rich in active lime than those in which the corresponding Scheurebe trocken grew. Mint, lime, cassis and honeydew melon mingle on a penetrating nose and a luscious, satin-textured, buoyant (11 percent alcohol) palate. At once cooling and glowing (a function of trigeminal nerve stimulation), the sustained finish invigorates and refreshes, introducing zesty, bright grapefruit to what is already a colorful assortment of fruits and herbs. This is apt to prove indispensable at table once you start playing around with it.
