Smells very sweet, almost sickly sweet. Then bitter and charry on the palate. Hard and, given it has already had a few years in bottle, unlikely to soften? (JH)

The 2012 Syrah is produced with fruit from Marchigue in Colchagua with some 15 months aging in barrel. This is the classical Syrah from Colchagua, with aromas of ripe berries, prunes and dark cherries, black rather than red. The palate is full-bodied with abundant, fine-grained tannins and balanced acidity. It should get polished with some more time in bottle, but if you want it now, find a powerful dish. 31,680 bottles produced.
