Tasting notes
The Tassi 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Franci offers a rich and savory bouquet that is held together by a grounded and powerful center of gravity. There are contrasting veins of sweetness and sourness that, when observed closely, reveal dark cherry, spice and pressed rose. This is a rich and nicely saturated expression from Fabio Tassi, who has done a great job of capturing the sultry side of this vintage. The wine finishes with dark, spicy fruit, perfect to savor alongside the specialty of the day, whether it be pasta or meat, served at Tassi's terrific restaurant across from the fortress in downtown Montalcino. Exactly 3,165 bottles were crafted.

Single vineyard. Much more closed than the other Tassi Brunellos from the same vintage, but with a hint of coffee. Bags of cherry and bags of tannins on the palate and with a rich but tangy finish. This is quite impressive and not the most subtle, but bound to develop well in the medium term. (WS)
What strikes you about this old-vineyard red is the texture of fine tannins and richness of ripe fruit. Yet, itâs all in fantastic harmony and intensity. Full body. Wonderful texture and energy. Such drinkability and depth. Drink or hold. But one for the cellar and only 1,500 bottles made.
