Score 90/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Jul 2018
The 2007 Azimuth from Caliza is a sexy, forward, voluptuous effort that has lifted notes of plums, spice box, licorice and garrigue. Ripe, textured and mouthfilling, yet with good acidity and freshness, drink it over the coming 4-5 years. The blend is 53% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 12% Mourvèdre that spent 20 months in French oak.

A Cotes du Rhone-like blend of 53% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 12% Mourvedre, the 2007 Azimuth reveals peppery, loamy soil notes intermixed with cherry jam, strawberries, pepper, and herbs. Medium-bodied and heady, it is ideal for drinking over the next 2-3 years. Tel. (805) 237-1480
