Tasting notes
Score 91-94/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2004

Deep, saturated ruby. Huge, porty aromas of briary black raspberry, licorice, coffee and flowers. Fat, sweet, lush and full, with powerful, brooding flavors of black raspberry, blackberry and coffee ("shows all the stages of a blackberry, very Dry Creek," notes vineyard manager Kenworthy). A very broad, intense, tannic zinfandel with huge fruit. Offers more verve than the 2001 version at the same stage.
