Score 87/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Good full ruby-red. Sappy aromas of black raspberry and dark chocolate. Intense blackberry, black cherry and chocolate flavors, nicely shaped by harmonious acids. Avoids the vegetility often displayed by Lodi zinfandel. Finishes with ripe, smooth tannins. As in the North Coast, the harvest was on the late side here, producing juicier fruit than usual, according to Peterson.
