Tasting notes
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is a wild, potent wine. Inky dark fruit, grilled herbs, licorice, spice, espresso and game give the Piedras its decidedly exotic personality. The 2018 is at once intensely ripe and savory, with strong oak accents that add sweetness. Those elements don't feel fully meshed together at this stage.

From a great site outside of St. Helena, there are 175 cases of the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard, which has a killer bouquet of black raspberries and crème de cassis intermixed with beautiful spring flowers, unsmoked tobacco, and spice. Deep, rich, full-bodied, and with incredible elegance and purity, it offers building tannins, flawless balance, and stunning length. A gorgeous wine in every sense, it's going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and just sing for 20-25 years or more.
Quivet's 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is terrific. More than just that, it also is super-expressive of site. Crushed rocks, graphite, lavender, spice and inky dark fruit infuse the 2018 with tremendous aromatic and flavor complexity. Dark, racy and voluptuous, the 2018 is a rock star wine. It is also one of the most alluring Cabernets I have ever tasted from Quivet.
