Score 96/100 · Drink 2016-2031, Robert Parker, Sep 2016
A late release, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain, at seven years of age, still has an inky purple color, gorgeous, spicy, slightly toasty, smoky blackcurrant fruit, a full-bodied, extravagant richness, long finish, and great overall balance. Only 100 cases of this wine were released. This estate-grown Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon came from a single vineyard not far from the town of Angwin, at an elevation of 2,000 feet. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 24 months in French oak. This is a beauty to drink over the next 10-15 years.
