Tasting notes
Loaded with notes of ripe cherries and cassis, Carter's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Los Compadres is the tightest and most age-worthy of the Las Piedras bottlings. It's full-bodied, yet taut, almost crisp, long and juicy, framed by silky tannins. Just a super effort.

This 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Los Compadres showed brilliantly, with a deep, saturated purple color as well as a stunning bouquet of blue fruits, light gunpowder, crushed stone, and lead pencil. It gains even more intensity with air and is full-bodied on the palate, seamless, elegant, and just brilliant any way you look at it. It has plenty of up-front appeal yet enough tannins to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and is unquestionably going to have two decades of prime drinking.
