Tasting notes
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad is darker and more masculine, with beautiful, chocolate-laced black fruits, scorched earth, crushed stone, and tobacco-like aromas and flavors. It, too, is concentrated, has medium to full-bodied richness, impressive tannins, and a great finish. It might actually have some upside.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad offers a more typical expression of this St. Helena site. Gravel, smoke, lavender, menthol, pine and inky dark fruit are all amped up in this potent, virile Cabernet Sauvignon. Creamy, rich and powerful to the core, the Verdad will thrill readers who like these wines. I loved it.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad bursts with crushed blackcurrants, warm blueberries and black cherries with touches of raspberry leaves, baker's chocolate, licorice and lavender plus hints of cardamom and iron ore. The palate is medium to full-bodied with soft, grainy tannins and loads of juicy black fruits, finishing on a mineral note.
