Tasting notes
The 2014 Cabernet Franc Blueline Estate is an elegant, stylish Cabernet Franc that offers plenty of black and blue fruits, spring flowers, hints of graphite and lead pencil in its medium to full-bodied, beautifully elegant, seamless profile. It’s not a blockbuster, but shines for its purity of fruit, fine, sweet tannin and great finish. It needs an hour in a decanter if drinking anytime soon and will keep for another 10-15 years.

The 2014 Cabernet Franc Blueline Estate saw about 70% new oak and reflects the elegance and rather sublime qualities of Cabernet Franc at its best. Forest floor, back raspberry and floral notes dominate this medium to full-bodied wine with no hard edges, a nice spice to the bluish and red fruit flavors, medium to full body and sweet tannin. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.
The 2014 Cabernet Franc Blueline is once again one of the most distinctive wines in the range. Deep, dense and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2014 exudes varietal character, especially in its lifted aromatics. The addition of new block of Franc seems to give the wine a bit more finesse than in the past. Mocha, espresso and plum infuse the creamy, voluptuous finish. This is a gorgeous wine from Hourglass's Blueline property.
The 2014 Cabernet Franc Blueline is inky, rich and explosive, with fabulous aromatic nuance to balance the overt fruit. Violets, lavender, spice, menthol and licorice abound as the 2014 shows off its deeply expressive personality and overall class. Mocha, dark chocolate and spice add the final shades of complexity.
