The 2019 Cabernet Franc Blueline Estate comes mostly from 30-year-old vines and is 100% varietal. Classic red and blue fruits as well herbs and floral notes define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, with good acidity and a balanced, seamless mouthfeel. Drink it over the coming 10-15 years.
The 2019 Cabernet Franc Blueline Estate is composed of 92% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Displaying an opaque purple-black color, it springs from the glass with vibrant notions of Morello cherries, redcurrant jelly and wild blueberries, plus touches of pencil shavings, red roses, bouquet garni and dusty soil. Full-bodied, the palate is built like a brick house with a lively backbone and a firm, grainy texture framing the muscular red and blue fruits, finishing long and fragrant.
The 2019 Cabernet Franc opens with striking lift. Crushed red berries, mint, chalk, sage and white pepper give the 2019 its distinctive upper register of aromatic brilliance. This is an especially bright, chiseled style, but it works so well. The purity of the fruit is compelling.
