Tasting notes
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ravens is slightly more polished, displaying a denser purple color, more vivid, sweet blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, and a hint of earthiness. It’s long and rich, with supple tannin, good acidity and terrific palate presence. It should drink well for at least 15-20 years.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ravens Vineyard has turned out beautifully. Dense and powerful in the glass, with lovely ferrous undertones, the Ravens Cabernet is one of the most distinctive wines being made in Calistoga. Savory and mineral notes wrap around a core of red-fleshed stone fruits. This beautifully balanced, harmonious Cabernet possesses terrific balance. It should drink well with minimal cellaring. Winemaker Aaron Pott has done a fabulous job coaxing out the personality of this site.
The estate's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ravens Vineyard is another head-turner. Layers of blue/blackish fruit, smoke, tobacco, savory herbs, lavender and licorice grace the palate as this inky, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon shows off its pedigree and class. A dash of blood orange adds brightness as well as a hint of exoticism that only adds to the wine's considerable intrigue. Here, too, the tannins are firm, which along with the personality of the year, results in a super classic Cabernet Sauvignon built for cellaring.
