Score 90/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Robert Parker, Jun 2012

The 2002 Persistence Proprietary Red Wine (57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 11% Syrah and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) is the biggest and richest of this trio, no doubt because of its Syrah component. Although still tightly knit, it reveals lots of youthful, exuberant blackberry and black currant fruit intermixed with hints of roasted meats, underbrush, unsmoked cigar tobacco, licorice, pepper and spice. This dense, rich red also exhibits slightly more new oak than its siblings. Give it several more years of cellaring and drink it over the following decade. Tel. (707) 258-2558; Fax (707) 258-9558
