The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Sentinel Ridge was aged for 19 months in French oak barrels, 100% new. Deep garnet-purple colored, it springs from the glass with fabulous floral notes of violets and roses, giving way to a core of blackcurrant pastilles, warm black and red plums and kirsch with hints of iron ore and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, it has a firm and finely grained texture with lovely fragrance and a provocative lift on the finish. 114 cases were made.

The dense purple-hued 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Sentinel Ridge is another awesome wine. Almost impenetrable and full-bodied, with a massive, meaty, smoky style, it’s full-bodied and locked-and-loaded, with building tannins and a great texture. It got a few “wows” in the notes. It’s going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for 20-25 years.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Sentinel Ridge opens with stunning aromatic intensity. Crushed rocks, game, leather, menthol, chocolate and licorice infuse the 2018 with tremendous character. All of the explosive energy of Howell Mountain comes through in a riveting, super-expressive Cabernet from Bevan.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Sentinel Ridge is truly dazzling. Gravel, graphite, crushed rocks, game, licorice, menthol, black cherry, espresso and chocolate all run through this potent, deeply structured Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Vertical, rich, vivid and explosive, the 2018 is superb. I can't wait to taste it from bottle.
