Score 97/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Jeb Dunnuck, Jun 2024
The 2021 Pinot Noir High Plains shows darker pigment of magenta and takes on a touch of lavender perfume, with deeper notes of ripe, fresh Amarena cherries and ferrous earth. Medium to full-bodied, it expands through the palate without being heavy in any way and has a long, iron-rich mineral finish. Drink 2025-2040.

The 2021 Pinot Noir High Plains is a bottling from vines planted in 1989 with Pommard clone. Intense floral and spice notes lend aromatic presence throughout. There's plenty of Russian River exuberance, but a more linear build and greater aromatic presence than is found in the other wines in this range.
