( négociant wine; not yet racked): Medium-deep red. Less pure on the nose than the Marsannay, with meat and iron aromas dominating. Then sweeter and more pliant on the palate, with ripe redcurrant, smoke and earth flavors nicely supported by underlying minerality. This persistent wine should offer early pleasure.

The 2013 Fixin Village has a light floral bouquet with uncomplicated red berry fruit that is clean and defined, a touch of undergrowth developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with brittle tannins, quite sharp acidity with a tart cherry finish. Drink over the next four or five years.
