More closed aromatically, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford has ample black cherry and blackberry fruits as well as notes of scorched earth, tobacco, and graphite. Playing in the medium to full-bodied end of the spectrum, it’s nicely concentrated and has a focused, firm texture, ripe yet certainly present tannins, and a great finish. It has plenty of potential, but it needs 3-5 years of bottle age and should evolve for 15-20 years or more.
