Tasting notes
Rich and unctuous, the 2003 Rully 1er Cru Meix Cadot Vieilles Vignes delivers aromas of apricot, mandarin, orchard fruit, toasted bread and spices. Full-bodied, fleshy and textural, it's thick and concentrated, with notable mid-palate amplitude and a resonant finish; and, if anything, it's a touch fresher than the 2006 vintage. Dureuil remarks that he was working with barrels from François Frères and Gillet in this period. This was picked on September 2.

Sporting an intensely spicy nose of pears dusted with white pepper, the 2003 Rully Meix Cadot Tres Vieilles Vignes Cuvee Unique (white) bursts on the palate with loads of white fruits, anise, and sage. This light to medium-bodied wine is expressive, elegant, and reveals a long, flavorful finish. Drink it over the next 6 years.
