Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2015-2025, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, Feb 2012

The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin La Petite Chapelle bursts from the glass with freshly cut flowers, roses, sweet red berries and spices. The Petite Chapelle is an especially fruit-driven, juicy 2010 loaded with personality and character. This is a terrific showing. Incidentally, the Petite Chapelle was made by Frederic Magnien’s 11 year-old son. If this wine is representative of his talents, the young Magnien seems headed for a bright future. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (Not yet released) Importer: Skurnik Wines, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300

(vinified by Fred Magnien's son Jules): Good dark red. Raspberry, cinnamon, cumin and dusty cocoa powder on the nose. Suave entry of crushed stone, then sappy and energetic in the mid-palate, with peppery, mineral-driven acidity giving the wine excellent clarity. But this oak-spicy wine is already silky today. This was fermented in 500-liter one-year old barrels, then aged in once-used barriques .
