Lastly, the Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated 2016 Since You Asked Kindly (there's 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Syrah) offers a deep purple color as well as more blackcurrant, green tobacco, chocolate, graphite, and earthy aromas and flavors. It too is tannic and structured, has full-bodied richness, and needs 4-5 years of bottle age.

The 2016 Since You Asked Kindly is a very pretty yet understated wine. There is plenty of the savory character that is typical of Happy Canyon Cabernets, but with a lighter mid-palate and a more lifted feel than has been common at Sanguis in the past. Dark red cherry, plum, licorice, spice, menthol and grilled herbs add striking layers of nuance throughout.
A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Since You Asked Kindly is medium to deep ruby with a nose of warm red and black currant, candied cherries, blueberries and oodles of floral perfume plus nuances of coffee grounds, damp earth, chocolate-covered cherries, fried herbs and hints of peppered meats. The palate is full-bodied, big, bold and dense, with a firm frame of chewy tannins and just enough acidity, finishing with a touch of cedary oak poking out on the slightly warm finish.
