Score 88/100 · Drink 2014-2019, Robert Parker, Apr 2014
This blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc comes from the upper slopes of the Napa side of Spring Mountain. Its dark ruby/purple color is followed by restrained notes of figs, chocolate and earth, super-ripeness, and an Amarone-like style. This well-made 2004 may be controversial for some tasters, but it should provide attractive drinking over the next 2-5 years. Tel. (707) 963-1154

The sort of wine that divides critics. I found it too sweet and alcoholic; the writer next to me praised it for its richness and intensity. It’s well-made, yet over the top for many. (LM) $90
