Score 88/100 · Drink 2018-2026, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2018

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard is powerful, oaky and super-concentrated. This jammy, virile, forbiddingly tannic wine comes across as flat and one-dimensional.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard, which apparently emerges from relatively old vines in St. Helena, has an inky, opaque, bluish/black color and seems more saturated than its sibling. With a beautiful blackberry and blueberry-scented nose with charcoal and incense, the wine is full-bodied, powerful, thick and concentrated, this is an impressive wine. Rich, vigorous, vibrant and fresh, but super-rich, pure and deep, this layered, multi-dimensional wine will benefit from another 3-4 years of cellaring and keep for 20-25 years
