Score 86/100 · Drink 2017-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017

Tasted at Château Rauzan-Gassies. The 2011 Croizet Bages, a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Merlot, is very reticent on the nose and needs more fruit expression à la 2009 and 2010. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, more freshness than the nose suggests, with an easy-drinking but harmonious red berry and cedar-tinged finish. If the aromatics can muster more intent, then this will turn out to be a satisfying 2011 Pauillac. Tasted June 2015.

Tasted blind. Round and floral. Very surprisingly fluid for a Pauillac, soft! (JR)

First bottle corked. Second bottle: peppery on the nose. Savoury dark fruit, hint of yeast extract meatiness. Rather austere and lacking flesh. Not particularly fresh. Perhaps the second bottle was not in perfect condition either. (JH)

Sweet, spicy dark fruit. A bit hard and lean on the palate. (JH)
