Tasting notes
(14.9% alcohol): Moderately saturated dark red. Aromas of plum, blueberry, raspberry, spices and wild herbs convey a slightly exotic character. Thick and spicy in the mouth, with a lot of oak showing but also lovely depth to its buffering berry fruit. A bit aggressive and high-toned today but long on personality. This savory/sweet wine finishes with serious dusty tannins, a touch of peppery herbs and good back-end lift, if a touch of dryness.

The balance is much better in the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa. Aromas of chocolate, black currants, smoky oak, and sweet fruit are followed by a medium to full-bodied wine displaying a lush, heady finish. It should drink well for a decade or more. Tel. (707) 945-0388
