2018 Sandlands Carignan

The 2018 Carignane literally explodes from the glass with a rush of sweet red berry fruit, rose petal, mint, pine, spice and pomegranate. Bright and punchy, with tremendous palate presence, the 2018 exudes raciness from the very first taste. The 100% whole clusters are not all evident. Instead, it is the wine's fruit density (at 12.9%) that really stands out. It's hard to find the right adjective to describe the Carignane. To me, it is simply joyous.
