Tasting notes
Aromatics of rose powder with black-tea accents carry forward into a wonderfully complex wine. Offers delicacy with persistence, and is somehow both rugged and pretty. A stronger structural vintage than the 2012, the 2013 offers more flavour presence and depth with similar acid profile and lower alcohol. 100% whole cluster. This wine has the structure to age for a long time but as it is a new project its flavour development remains unclear. Lovely. (ECB)

Another compelling wine, the 2013 Trousseau Noir is full of intrigue. Beautifully savory and lifted, the 2013 graces the palate with crushed flowers, herbs, mint and sweet red fruit. The 2013 emerges from a parcel on Bohan Ranch, the first property developed in what is now the high-rent district on the Sonoma Coast. Readers who can find the 2013 should not hesitate, as it is superb.
