Saturated ruby. A perfumed, complex bouquet evokes dark berries and cherry pit, along with suave floral and spicecake qualities. Juicy and silky in texture, offering sweet, palate-staining black raspberry and cassis flavors. The spicy quality gains strength with air and carries through a long, seamless finish. I find this wine highly appealing already.

Opaque ruby. Lively, youthfully medicinal aromas of cherry, cassis and licorice, plus a hint of smoky herbs. Juicy and expansive, offering fleshy, deeply pitched bitter cherry and dark berry flavors supported by a firm spine of acidity and firm tannins. Finishes with powerful thrust and a suggestion of candied flowers.
