Lots of mushroom and tobacco-leaf aromas here with dark fruit. Medium body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh finish. Very fine. Very well done. Better in 2018.

Light in color and fruit, this bright style of red berry dominated Cabernet is best enjoyed on the young side.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon seems somewhat a disappointment for the vintage. It’s slightly austere, angular, lacking the charm, sweetness and fruit and ripe tannin that are very prominent hallmarks of this vintage. There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s clean, medium-bodied, but relatively innocuous and one-dimensional. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.
