The 2020 Chardonnay Russian River Valley has a more herbaceous aromatic profile, with ripe green apple, white flowers, and river rock. The palate is sunny and ripe, with orchard fruits and warming baking spice. Drink 2023-2032. Founded by three childhood friends, Christopher Strieter, Max Thieriot, and Myles Lawrence-Briggs, Senses Wines has their estate holdings in the West Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley appellations. With their esteemed winemaker, Thomas Rivers Brown, they are producing some exceptional Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. They have slowly and steadily expanded their production from just 600 cases in 2012 to approximately 5000 cases today.

The 2020 Chardonnay UV - El Diablo Vineyard is scented of apricot, Meyer lemon and jasmine with touches of meringue, beeswax, cashews and flint. The medium-bodied palate is satiny, with generous acidity and nuanced flavors, and it has a very long, gently textural finish. (EB)
Barrel fermented and matured for 14 months in about 10% new French oak, the 2020 Chardonnay Russian River Valley begins with aromas of candied lemon and flint and blossoms to notes of roasted almonds and meringue. The light-bodied palate is energetic and fresh, with a concentrated core of apricot and lemon fruit and a waxy texture that drives the flavorful finish. 360 cases were made.
