Brilliant ruby-red. Oak-infused blackberry and cherry-cola aromas pick up a smoky nuance with air, along with subtle floral and black pepper qualities. Offers gently sweet dark berry, cherry and vanilla bean flavors and a touch of licorice pastille that builds with air. The vanilla and cola notes come back on the finish, which is framed by supple, nicely harmonious tannins. Showing its wood but there's plenty of fruit here as well.

The 2011 Pinot Noir Sangiacomo (made from Dijon clone 115 and the Old Pommard clone) possesses an attractive, spicy, autumnal/vegetative-scented bouquet intermixed with blackberries and strawberries, and a clipped, compact mouthfeel. This should be drunk up over the next several years. The Pinot Noir offerings range in alcohol from 13.1% to 14.1% Tel. (707) 433-4780
