Tasting notes
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III is an attractive, middle of the road wine with good palate presence and plenty of vintage 2013 density. The tannins are quite soft for the year, which gives the wine an unusual amount of early accessibility, but readers might like to cellar the 2013 to gain a little more flavor nuance. Although not especially complex, the 2013 is absolutely delicious. Raspberry jam, mocha, wild flowers and new leather are front and center in this succulent, voluptuous Cabernet from Sojourn.

Lastly, the iconic site of George III has produced the deep ruby/purple 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Vineyard from Rutherford. Loads of earth crème de cassis, licorice and spice characterize this rich, full-bodied wine, which emanates from what is obviously one of the great terroirs of Napa Valley. This is a beauty of purity, richness, and stunning ripeness. Accessible now, it should hit its prime in 3-4 years and last for 25 years.
