Earliest, warmest vintage in Oregon until 2015. The first of three hot vintages in a row. Remained warm through harvest. Around 50% whole cluster and 20% new oak. Subtle aromatics and quite savoury, concentrated palate. Still compact in an introspective phase. The underlying focus here is on savoury character with a body of red and black fruits and lifting aromatics of both fresh and dried roses and a mix of citrus notes. There is a pleasing savoury-salty crunch with a lot of palate stimulation. Quite persistent. Wants time in bottle and will likely open more with a couple more years before opening. (ECB)

The 2014 Pinot Noir Silice Vineyard had a medium ruby-purple color and is scented of fertile loam, game, sautéed herbs and tree bark over a core of warm cranberries, pomegranate and raspberries. Medium-bodied with a very lively backbone, it has a good amount of chewy tannins supporting the expressive fruit, finishing with an herbal lift.

Scented and lively with real breadth and integrity. Great stuff! Just so transparent yet subtle and substantial without excess oak or alcohol. (JR)

Brilliant red. Fragrant, spice-accented red berries, blood orange and candied rose on the incisive nose. Bright, nervy and focused on the palate, offering intense raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that spread out and become sweeter with air. Juicy and seamless in texture, finishing with powerful mineral thrust and resonating floral and red berry notes. Shows surprising vivacity for the year - I'd have guessed that this was a 2013.
