The 1999 Pinot Noir Estate exhibits spice and cinnamon, along with tell-tale sweet cherry fruit. It is medium-bodied and elegant, with atypically high acidity (because of the cool vintage conditions). The medium ruby color has a darker saturation than the Goldridge cuvee. Tel. (14.8% alcohol) Good medium red. Deeper aromas of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, tar, smoke and loam. A step up in intensity and chewiness from the Goldridge bottling; more tightly coiled but denser, nicely balanced and showing well. Still a rather easygoing style of pinot, with moderate complexity.
