The 2015 Red Blend Three Graces, Clos du Val's new high-end wine, is a total stunner. All the best qualities of the house style come through loud and clear. Black cherry, crème de cassis, mocha, espresso, new leather and sweet French oak infuse this super-expressive, large-scaled wine. The 100% new oak is very nicely integrated.

Another beautiful barrel sample is the 2015 Three Graces, a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot raised in new oak. A sexy, undeniable fruit bomb that delivers tons of black and blue fruits, exotic flower, and orange peel nuances, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, terrific purity of fruit, integrated acidity, and no hard edges. It’s more approachable and forward than the Cabernet Sauvignon release and is going to drink great right out of the gate.

Just as compelling as it was from barrel, the 2015 Red Blend Three Graces has turned out beautifully. Super-ripe black cherry, blackberry jam, cloves, new French oak and bittersweet chocolate flesh out in this unctuous, racy wine from Clos du Val. Exquisitely layered and super-expressive, the 2015 Three Graces is a winner from Clos du Val. (AG)

Another impressive winner and head and shoulders above the somewhat disappointing 2014, is the 2015 Proprietary Red Three Graces, a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. This wine shows beautiful texture, medium to full body, loads of blueberry and forest floor notes intermixed with additional blackcurrant and black cherry notes. There are foresty notes, full-bodied texture and a deep, plushness to this beauty that should drink well for 15 or more years.
