Tasting notes
Deep red-ruby. Superripe but vibrant aromas of black raspberry, dark cherry and chocolate, with floral and musky underbrush nuances emerging with air. Wonderfully fat, ripe and dense, with a compellingly creamy quality to its dark berry, floral and smoke flavors. A flamboyantly ripe, outsized Suchots whose energy keeps it balanced at a high level of richness. Finishes very long and ripely tannic. This is remarkably sexy today but I'd give it several years of aging to absorb some of its baby fat and show more of its underlying detail.

Bright ruby. Captivating aromas of black cherry, cassis, violet and dark chocolate. Ripe, creamy, broad and suave, but with a restrained sweetness. This has the texture, volume and inner-mouth complexity of a grand cru. Suave and noble wine, finishing with very fine, broad tannins and superb length. Sure to be the best Suchots yet from Magnien.
