Tasting notes
From vines planted in 1993, the 2022 Syrah Hudson Vineyard T-Block comes from the cooler side of the front vineyard at Hudson Ranch and saw 45% whole clusters in the fermentation. It pours a deeper purple hue and boasts aromas of black plum, lavender, pancetta, and spearmint. It’s more savory, forward, and layered in the glass, filling the palate with ripe tannins, a ripe but weightless feel, and a long-lasting finish. A stellar wine, it’s great now but will only improve with another year or more in the bottle. Drink 2025-2037.

The 2022 Syrah Hudson Vineyard T-Block, from vines planted in 1993, opens with soaring violet perfume complementing scents of cassis, prosciutto and peppercorn. The full-bodied palate’s gently chewy tannins are sewn into its concentrated flavors. It’s balanced by juicy acidity and has a long, floral finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar.
