Score 92/100 · Drink 2013-2015, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2012

Denner's 2010 Viognier comes across as tight, cool and mineral-driven in this vintage. The open, generous personality of Viognier is evident, but in more reserved, hushed tones than in some previous years. The 2010 was aged partly in stainless steel and partly in oak, (23% new), with a dollop of aging in concrete.

I was deeply impressed with the wines I tasted from Denner this year. From top to bottom, these new releases capture the essence of everything that makes Paso Robles one of the most exciting wine making regions in the world. Tel. (805) 239-4287

The 2010 Denner Viognier is 100% Viognier that spent 4 months in 30% new Puncheons and the rest in a mix of concrete and stainless steel. Very fresh and pretty on the nose, with peach pit, crunchy minerality, and that subtle floral background nuance that Viognier almost always delivers, this medium-bodied, juicy white has solid texture and finishes with crisp acidity. It's a beauty meant for enjoying over the coming 2-3 years.

Apple pie with pear tar and hints of cream. Full body with lots of fruit and spice. Thick but pretty fruit. Drink now.
