2015 Domaine Martelet de Chérisey Puligny-Montrachet Chalumeaux 1er Cru

The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chalumaux, picked around 2-3 September from vines at the lowest altitude for the domaine, has a lovely, walnut and dried honey-scented bouquet that manages to convey its mineralité and delineation without compromise. The palate is well balanced with well-integrated oak, a dash of spice on the entry, almost Meursault-like in style with a pleasant reductive note right on the finish that does nothing to diminish the terroir expression. Sublime.
